First Utrecht Science Lecture by Hans Clevers

22 February 2022 – Professor Hans Clevers will be delivering the first Utrecht Science Lecture on Friday 7 October, the final day of the Utrecht Science Week.

Each year, the Utrecht Science Lecture offers one prominent Utrecht University researchers the opportunity to discuss the current state of research on healthy and sustainable living as part of the Utrecht Science Week.

Prof. Hans Clevers (1957) is group leader at the Hubrecht Institute for Developmental Biology and Stem Cell Research and the Princess Máxima Centre for Paediatric Oncology. He also serves as Professor of Molecular Genetics at Utrecht University and Oncode Investigator.

Hans Clevers has received various awards and honours, including the Spinoza Prize (2001), the Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences (2013), The Royal Netherlands Academy Professor Prize (2016), the Keio University Medical Science Prize (Japan; 2019) and the Ammodo Science Award (2022).

Effective 18 March 2022, Hans Clevers will be appointed Head of Pharma, Research and Early Development (pRED) and Member of the Enlarged Executive Committee of F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd, Basel, Switzerland. He will remain closely involved with his research group at the Hubrecht Institute as an advisor/guest researcher.
