22 February 2022 – After the success of the first edition in 2021, the organisers of Utrecht Science Week are focusing on an extensive and varied programme in 2022.
During the week – from 30 September to 7 October 2022 – numerous stages will be created both literally and figuratively throughout Utrecht Science Park for meetings and exchanges of knowledge between students, professionals and other interested parties.
Achievements and innovations that contribute to a healthy, sustainable society will be presented in all possible ways. Lectures, workshops and debates will alternate with excursions, exhibitions, breakfast sessions and much more. A temporary pavilion as a central meeting and information point will form the beating heart of Utrecht Science Week.
There will also be plenty of scope for existing events and conferences, and for offshoots thereof. In this context, the organisation will speak with the Day of Sustainability, Pathways to Sustainability and the Life Sciences Facilities event, as well as the Weekend of Science, the Betweter Festival, the Utrecht 900 celebration with the theme ‘City without walls’ and the Sustainable Campus Challenge, in which broadly composed student teams work on smart solutions to social issues.
On the final day, Friday 7 October, the first Utrecht Science Lecture is scheduled and will be held by Prof. dr. Dr Hans Clevers.
In close collaboration with the partners – Utrecht University of Applied Sciences, Utrecht University, University Medical Center Utrecht, Princess Máxima Center, the biotech company Genmab and the RIVM – the programme will be further elaborated in the coming months.
