Marion Koopmans is Professor of Virology at Rotterdam’s Erasmus MC. Her research focuses on animal-to-human transmission of viruses and on the large-scale spread of viruses among humans. During the coronavirus crisis, she often appeared on TV as she served as an adviser to the European Commission and was a member of the Dutch Outbreak Management Team and the WHO’s scientific advisory group.
