Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign up?

It couldn’t be easier: just navigate to Programme (timetable or list view); when you click on any event you’ll find details on the content and speakers, as well as the registration button. We’ve kept things simple: you won’t need an account or a shopping cart – just fill in your name and email address. You can sign up for one event, but you can obviously also register for many, many more. There’s plenty to choose from and it would be a shame to miss out, as none of it will be repeated later on.

Can I also attend online?

For most events the answer is unfortunately “no”. But why not drop by and meet some interesting people. We would like to get to know you as well. However, Sustainability Day, for example, will be livestreamed.

What language will the programme be in?

In addition to Dutch-language events, there will also be some English language ones. The various English language events on the Programme – such as the First Utrecht Science Lectur e – feature an English flag icon. International guests attending Sustainability Day and the Healthy Living theme day can make use of our simultaneous English interpretation (on request)

So where is it?

‘It’ will take place at lots of different locations. See the Programme for an overview of locations for each event. You will find our central pavilion on the Kleine Gras lawn in the Botanical Gardens, where you can enjoy a range of great programme events every day, such as a Bring-your-own-lunch-meeting around lunchtime. Also on the programme every day: great company. You can also find answers to all your questions about the programme and all Utrecht Science Week locations.

So how do I buy tickets?

Answer: you don’t!

Participation in all programme events is free, with the exception of the Betweter Festival at TivoliVredenburg. Do make sure to register in advance so you can be sure of a plac

Can I also take part without registering?

You can drop by without a registration as long as there are enough places left. However, we do recommend registering in advance to guarantee you can take part in the programme.

What about the catering?

Naturally, all catering is 100% vegetarian. The Botanica Garden Café will be selling tasty foods every day at La Tentina, right next to the Utrecht Science Week central pavilion. Made a packed lunch at home? No problem, you can also bring your own sandwiches and coffee to the event.

I've registered, but haven't received anything yet.

Send an email to and we’ll add you to the list.
