Melati Wijsen

Twenty-year-old Dutch-Indonesian filmmaker Melati Wijsen has fought plastic pollution for years, and with considerable success. As a teenager, she managed to get plastic bags banned on the island of Bali.

BIGGER THAN US shows Melati’s intriguing and moving journey, during which she met other young changemakers who are dedicated to a better future. Among other things, these young people are fighting for human rights, freedom of speech and access to education and food, and against climate change.
